TOUR OVERVIEW

Corbett, Taj Mahal, Ranthambore & Jaipur Tour

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of the very forests that inspired Rudyard Kipling's 'Jungle Book,' reminiscent of the experience on our Kanha and Bandhavgarh Tour. Here, the harmonious blend of grand Sal trees, bamboo forests, and the fascinating wildlife they shelter creates a tranquil haven where nature flourishes.

The Kanha and Bandhavgarh experience, akin to a journey through Kipling's own land, will captivate you with sightings of Tigers, Sloth Bears, Wild Dogs, and the remarkable hardground Barasingha, a swamp deer species successfully brought back from near extinction. These iconic national parks in India are celebrated for their rich natural heritage and significant tiger populations, offering you an exceptional opportunity to witness the elusive striped cat gracefully moving through its natural domain in its regal splendor.

Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will switch to a safari vehicle along with your luggage. Be ready with your camera equipment, as a lot of wildlife and birdlife can be seen on this trail. On arrival, check into the forest lodge.

This Forest Rest House offers a unique experience within Corbett National Park. It is the only place where you get an opportunity to stay inside the national park. The complex is located on the banks of the Ramganga River and overlooks the foothills of the pristine Himalayas. Post lunch, proceed for an afternoon safari in the most scenic national park of India. Only vegetarian food is served here. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted within the National Park. Return from the safari at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the Forest Rest House.

Accommodation: Dhikala Forest Rest House.

Day 03 - 04: Exploring Corbett National Park

Begin your morning safari at sunrise. Corbett has aptly been described as the land of the Roar, Trumpet, and Song. It represents a scene of remarkable beauty. Corbett holds the proud distinction of being the chosen venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India. The rich biodiversity of the Reserve is partly attributed to the variety of habitats found here. Due to the Reserve's location in the foothills of the central Himalayas, both Himalayan and peninsular flora and fauna are found here. India's first and finest park, spread over 520 sq. kms., was initially established as Hailey National Park on August 8, 1936, in honor of Sir Malcolm Hailey, the then governor of the United Provinces. In 1952, the name was changed to Ramganga National Park. In 1957, it was finally named Corbett National Park in honor and memory of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter, naturalist-turned-author, and photographer who helped in setting up the park and demarcating its boundaries. Dinner and overnight stay at the forest rest house. Accommodation: Dhikala Forest Rest House.

Day 05: Further Exploration in Corbett National Park

Following your morning Corbett Tiger safari, check out from the forest lodge and begin your drive towards the exit gate of Corbett National Park. Keep your camera ready for one last opportunity to witness the abundant wildlife this region has to offer. Even a three-night stay feels too short in this natural paradise. Once you exit the park, proceed to check into your lodge situated outside the national park. An afternoon safari will take place in a designated zone outside the core national park area. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge. Accommodation: Jim's Jungle Retreat.

Day 06: Journey from Corbett to Agra (by surface, approximately 350 kms/6-7 hrs drive)

After a leisurely breakfast, begin your drive to Agra (approximately a 6-7 hour journey covering 350 kms). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, visit Mehtab Bagh to experience the breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal at sunset. Mehtab Bagh is a Charbagh complex located in Agra, North India. Situated north of the Taj Mahal complex and Agra Fort, on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains, this square-shaped garden complex covers an area of about 300 sq m. It is an ideal vantage point perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal across the riverbank.

Day 07: Agra - Ranthambhore National Park (by surface, approximately 265 kms/5 hrs drive)

At sunrise, you will visit the world-renowned white marble mausoleum, the Taj Mahal. This iconic monument was built in the mid-17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as an enduring symbol of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Completed in 1652, skilled artisans from Persia, Turkey, France, and Italy, along with approximately 20,000 laborers, worked tirelessly for 17 years to create this masterpiece. After a relaxed breakfast, you will drive to Ranthambhore National Park (approximately a 5-6 hour journey covering 265 kms). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, located in the Indian state of Rajasthan, encompasses distinct zones with varying conservation histories and are geographically somewhat separated, connected by narrow corridors leading to the core area of the National Park. These main areas include Ranthambhore National Park itself, Keladevi Sanctuary, and Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 08 - 09: Exploring Ranthambhore National Park

Your days will include both morning and afternoon Ranthambhore tiger safaris within the park. All meals will be provided at the lodge. Overnight stays will also be at the lodge in Ranthambhore. Ranthambhore National Park encompasses an area of approximately 400 sq km, featuring rocky hill ranges dotted with water pools and fruit-bearing trees, creating picturesque open valleys between the Aravalli and Vindhya hill ranges. Well-known for its diurnal activity of tigers, Ranthambhore is exceptionally special and enchanting, a place where the natural world presents a historical past. Sambar deer, chinkara, nilgai, and langur are commonly sighted along the trails of this landscape. The elusive leopard and tigers are also found in this reserve, rewarding tourists with a good chance of seeing them during their safaris. Scattered across the landscape are the crumbling ruins of past glory, be it 'chatris' or cupolas, like palaces or old guard posts, all of which enhance the magical and ethereal quality of this great wilderness. Accommodation: Ranthambhore Vanyavilas.

Day 10: Ranthambhore - Jaipur (by surface, 180 kms/3 hrs drive)

Enjoy a final morning Ranthambhore tiger safari in the national park. After breakfast, check out from the lodge and depart for the Pink City of Jaipur (approximately a 3-hour drive covering 180 kms). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is famously known as the 'Pink City' due to the distinctive color associated with its hospitality and Rajput culture. This Pink City presents a captivating picture with its fairy-tale palaces, rugged fortresses perched on barren hills, and broad avenues, painting an awe-inspiring scene of the land of kings. Originally a well-planned city, Jaipur is enclosed by a formidable wall, which stood as a significant challenge for many adversaries in its time. Overnight stay at your hotel in Jaipur. Accommodation: Jaipur Rajvilas.

Day 11: Jaipur, Rajasthan

Today, your exploration takes you 11 km outside the city to visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital of the State until 1728. You will also visit the Temple of Kali and the Hall of Victory or Jai Mahal, all within the fort complex. In the afternoon, visit the Observatory (Jantar Mantar), the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal), and the City Palace and Museum. The museum houses an interesting textile section, showcasing dresses and costumes of the former Maharajas and Maharanis of Jaipur. Jaipur is also renowned for its beautiful carpets, enameled ornaments, precious and semi-precious stones, brass ornaments, and various other arts and crafts. Spend time exploring the crowded lanes and by-lanes of the 'pink city,' haggling and souvenir-hunting in the local bazaars. Overnight stay at your hotel in Jaipur. Accommodation: Jaipur Rajvilas.

Day 12: Jaipur - New Delhi (by road, 260 kms/5 hrs drive)

After an early breakfast, you will depart for New Delhi, a journey that takes approximately 5 hours by road (covering 260 kms). Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay. Accommodation: The Roseate House, Aerocity or similar.

Day 13: New Delhi - Fly Home
