This 16-day expedition combines thrilling wildlife encounters with an exploration of India’s most iconic cities—Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Track the majestic Bengal Tiger in renowned national parks like Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh, and Kanha, while also soaking in the architectural marvels and vibrant streets of India's historic cities.

Detailed Itinerary

Taj, Temple and Tigers Tour

Day 01: Arrival in New Delhi (By Flight)
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, a Wild Safaris India representative will greet you. You’ll be transferred to your hotel and assisted with the check-in process. All travel documents will be handed over and explained in detail, ensuring you are prepared for the journey ahead. Enjoy your first night relaxing in the comfort of your hotel.

Day 02: New Delhi – Nagpur – Pench National Park (Flight + 100 km / 2 hrs drive)
After an early breakfast, proceed to the airport for your flight to Nagpur (10:20 AM departure / 12:00 PM arrival). On arrival, meet your driver and begin your journey to Pench National Park, a scenic 2-hour drive away. Check-in at the wildlife lodge upon arrival. After lunch, venture into the jungle for your first afternoon jeep safari in Pench.
Pench’s terrain blends tropical moist deciduous forests with teak and bamboo groves, intersected by seasonal streams and perennial water pools known as dohs, vital to wildlife during dry months.

Day 03: Pench National Park
Today, enjoy morning and afternoon jeep safaris through Pench’s pristine wilderness. The forest is known for its healthy population of Bengal tigers, which often patrol the riverbanks in search of prey. Other frequent sightings include leopards, wild dogs (dholes), jackals, and sloth bears. The park is also home to deer species like chital and sambar, along with the occasional gaur herd and elusive jungle cats.

Day 04: Pench – Kanha National Park (200 km / 4-5 hrs drive)
After a morning at leisure or optional nature walk, depart for Kanha National Park—one of India’s most picturesque tiger reserves. The drive offers changing landscapes as you transition deeper into central India. On arrival, check in at your lodge and relax for the evening, soaking in the forest atmosphere.

Day 05 & 06: Kanha National Park
Experience two full days of immersive wildlife safaris in Kanha, with both morning and afternoon drives. Kanha’s rolling meadows, sal forests, and watering holes offer a perfect setting for spotting tigers, barasingha (swamp deer), and packs of wild dogs. Birdlife is also abundant here, from crested serpent eagles to Malabar pied hornbills.

Day 07: Kanha – Bandhavgarh National Park (280 km / 6 hrs drive)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, famed for its high tiger density. On arrival, check into the lodge nestled near the forest’s edge. The evening is at your leisure to unwind or explore the surroundings.

Day 08 & 09: Bandhavgarh National Park
Spend the next two days on morning and afternoon game drives, venturing deep into the hilly terrain and grasslands of Bandhavgarh. The park’s mix of open meadows and dense sal forest creates excellent visibility and thrilling chances to witness tigers, leopards, and other fauna in their natural realm.

Day 10: Bandhavgarh – Khajuraho (250 km / 5-6 hrs drive)
Today’s journey takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Khajuraho, known for its ancient temples adorned with exquisite carvings. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 11: Khajuraho – Jhansi – Agra (Sightseeing + Train)
In the morning, explore the stunning temples of Khajuraho, a testament to India’s rich artistic and cultural legacy. Later, drive to Jhansi railway station to board a train to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur (245 km / 5 hrs drive)
Visit the iconic Taj Mahal at sunrise—an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, proceed to Jaipur, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th-century red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar. Continue to the Pink City and check into your hotel.
